Within the scope of the community service practices of universities, the “10th Mothers’ School at the University” training program, organized for the second time under the theme of Health Literacy by the Women, Family and Community Services Application and Research Center (KATUM) under the coordination of our Rectorate, in order to contribute to the education of mothers and mother candidates who form the basis of the family, has ended.
The mothers and mother candidates who participated in the training, which was held between December 23-27, 2024 and attracted attention with its rich content, emphasized the importance of the information they learned from expert academicians at the university and the value given to mothers, and expressed their gratitude to our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alişarlı and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz, our Hikmet and Naciye teachers who contributed to the preparation of this program, our valuable academicians who conveyed important information about physical and mental health, our administrative staff and students who did not leave them alone.
The closing program held in the Blue Hall of İzzet Baysal Cultural Center was attended by Vice Rector and Head of the Organizing Committee Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz, TÖMER Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kundakcı, KATUM Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hikmet Yağlı Mavil and Assistant Director Dr. Lecturer Naciye Somuncu Demir, and mothers and mother candidates.
Turkish songs from our international students
In the program, our international students studying at TÖMER, under the management of Lecturer Vefa Anlağan, played and sang Turkish songs prepared for our mothers. At the end of the enjoyable musical recital, TÖMER Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kundakcı, Lecturer Vefa Anlağan and international students were presented with certificates of appreciation by Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz.
A slide show consisting of photos and videos compiled from the 5-day training program was presented after the musical recital.
Certificates of participation and certificates of appreciation were presented to the mothers who expressed their feelings and thoughts about the training, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hikmet Yağlı Mavil and Assistant Professor Naciye Somuncu Demir by Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz. Prof. Dr. Gündüz congratulated all the valuable mothers who successfully completed the 5-day training program.
The program ended with a cake cutting, group photo shoot and Uzbek pilaf served by our international students for the mothers.
